Boring Machine
Model BM253
|

The internal boring machine for milling bearing housings is used to perform internal boring in the bearing housing after the casting process, by means of three basic movements that operate separately:
The first movement is the housing clamping press, which operates hydraulically via a hydraulic power unit inside the machine body. The press is fitted with a special fixture for each housing, which is mounted on the press and on the machine base.
The second movement is the rotating cutter, which runs continuously by an electric motor. A special cutter is fitted for each bearing size. The cutter consists of a set of small milling inserts assembled to the appropriate size.
The third movement is the slow offset of the cutter from the housing center during rotation. The offset increases with each revolution until the required diameter is reached. Then the movement is reversed to return to the starting point.
The third offset movement is equipped with an additional electrical control circuit that is set to the required size and operates automatically with a single press to increase the diameter to the desired size, then reverse the movement to return to the starting point.
Technical Specifications:
- Bearing housing milling machine, Egyptian manufacture with ready-made components of European origin
- The machine performs internal boring from 40 mm diameter up to 180 mm
- The machine includes three movements: press movement, cutter rotation, and eccentric offset
- The press operates on a 1 HP hydraulic power unit, 120 bar
- The press uses a 3-inch hydraulic cylinder with 4-ton force
- Press cylinder stroke is 20 cm
- The cutter is driven by a 3 HP electric motor, 700 rpm
- The cutter is assembled from a set of standard milling inserts starting from 40 mm diameter
- The cutter is ground after assembly to adjust to the final required size
- A set of spare cutters is provided for use while sharpening the other cutters
- The eccentric offset movement is powered by a 1 HP electric motor
- Eccentric rotation speed is 60 rpm
- The eccentric offset advances at a rate of 100 microns per eccentric revolution
- Offset travel from zero up to 180 mm diameter
- The machine is equipped with an electrical control panel for manual control of the three movements separately
- The offset movement is equipped with an additional switch for automatic opening to the required diameter then closing again
- Machine production rate is approximately 40 pieces per hour
- External dimensions of the machine: length 80 cm, width 70 cm, height 170 cm
- Metal parts are manufactured on computer-controlled laser machines to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Main parts are assembled with bolted connections without any welding to facilitate maintenance
- The machine is painted with one coat of anti-rust primer and two coats of final paint.
- Each part in the machine has a serial number and a special engineering drawing for remanufacturing upon request
